Prayer to St. Jude: No One To Turn To

Prayer to St. Jude – No One Else To Turn To

My Prayer to St. Jude has helped me on many occasions, there was one recently in particular that St. Jude came through for me. It was when my father had a heart attack and the doctor’s gave us no hope. I can still remember the pastor telling me “Only God, can determine when it is time. No one else.” Not even the doctor’s. I am a strong believer and my father is living proof. I know that I am not the only one that has been in a desperate situation or times. When I have felt or feel that I am lost, depressed or desperate, I always run to my favorite saint and say my Prayer to St. Jude. This Prayer to St. Jude has always helped me feel better. St. Jude was one of our Lord’s twelve Apostles and is referred to as Thaddeus (meaning “loving”) not to be confused with Judas Iscariot, our lord’s betrayer!!

I have shared the prayer below so that you too can read and so that it can help you as well. This prayer to St. Jude can help to remind us that nothing is impossible with God, even when you feel that the world has ended or you are at your wit’s end. St. Jude is the patron saint for lost causes. When one feels that there is no hope and a miracle is needed. A Prayer to St. Jude can help if you feel that you are all alone and you have no one else to turn to. So who else to ask to pray for you than St. Jude? Many have asked St. Jude for help with some kind of sickness, loss of a job or having trouble making ends meet, difficulties with relationships, suffering from addiction or depression, or whatever their particular situation may be.

Prayer to St. Jude - Miracles Happen!

Oh glorious apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered thy beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused thee to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes thee universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded thee of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (mention your request), and that I may bless God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise thee, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor thee as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to thee. Amen

Prayer to St. Jude – Novena

You can also use the prayer to St. Jude as a novena (a prayer said for nine consecutive days). I, personally, light a candle and do this in times of crisis. You can use the Prayer to St. Jude listed above along with the one listed below.

O Holy St Jude!
Apostle and Martyr,
great in virtue and rich in miracles,
near kinsman of Jesus Christ,
faithful intercessor for all who invoke you,
special patron in time of need;
to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart,
and humbly beg you,
to whom God has given such great power,
to come to my assistance;
help me now in my urgent need and grant my earnest petition.
I will never forget thy graces and favors you obtain for me
and I will do my utmost to spread devotion to you. Amen.
St. Jude, pray for us and all who honor thee and invoke thy aid.

(Now say 3 Our Father’s, 3 Hail Mary’s, and 3 Glory Be’s after this.)

Our Father
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
